# Parallel Studios Launches Planetfall Expansion for Sci-Fi Trading Card Game with Over 120 New NFT Cards
also be introduced, where players can spend in-game currency to purchase additional card packs, cosmetic items, and other virtual goods.
The expansion of Parallel Studios' sci-fi trading card game with the introduction of over 120 new NFT cards is an exciting development for players and collectors alike. The ability to purchase blind packs and trade these cards before their official debut in the game adds an element of anticipation and discovery for players.
The pricing structure for the card bundles offers options for players with different budgets. The Player Pack, priced at 0.018 ETH (approximately $32), provides players with 10 cards. For those looking for a more extensive collection, the Collector's Pack is available for 0.18 ETH ($320) and includes 10 cards as well. The Collector's Crate, priced at 1.6 ETH ($2,848), offers 10 Collector's Packs (100 cards) along with additional perks.
In Parallel, players are tasked with choosing one of five different factions, building their own card decks, and selecting a playable main character card known as a Paragon. Battles take place in 1v1 matches, where the objective is to reduce the enemy's health points to zero. The introduction of these new cards will provide players with additional strategic options and enhance their gameplay experience.
It's important to note that players will not have the ability to choose the specific cards included in their packs. However, the Collector's Pack and Collector's Crate offer the chance to obtain rare cards, while the Player Pack will contain a mix of common, uncommon, and rare cards. This element of randomness adds an element of surprise and excitement to the card acquisition process.
While the Planetfall expansion bundles will be available for pre-sale starting on October 25th for select early adopters, the cards will not be added to the game until sometime in Q1 or Q2 of 2024. This timeline allows for the necessary development and integration of the new content into the game.
It's worth noting that unlike Parallel's previous starter deck NFT packs, which were launched on Coinbase's Ethereum scaling network Base, the Planetfall NFT sets will exist on the Ethereum mainnet. This means that players may experience higher transaction fees, known as gas fees, when making purchases. However, the advantage is that there is no need to bridge any crypto to the Base network, streamlining the purchasing process for players.
In addition to the expansion release, Parallel Studios has plans to release a new patch for its beta next week. This update will introduce a battle pass, new cosmetic skins, and new game options such as emotes and field backs. The introduction of an in-game store further expands the options for players to spend in-game currency on card packs and other virtual goods.
Overall, the expansion of Parallel Studios' sci-fi trading card game with the introduction of new NFT cards and the accompanying features and updates is an exciting development for both existing players and potential new players. The addition of new content, strategic options, and customization features enhances the gameplay experience and provides players with more opportunities for engagement and enjoyment.
